Bubbling Over at Wolverhampton

with No Comments

SUNSHINEANDBUBBLES won the FCL Global Forwarding Fillies' Handicap at Wolverhampton last night with talented young apprentice Rossa Ryan in the plate. The 5yo mare has been in tremendous form recently and she defied yet another career-high mark thanks to an injection of pace around the home turn that put all of her rivals in immediate trouble.

The five-year old only joined us late last year and that is now her fifth win since starting an exceptional run of form just before Christmas. She is tough and genuine and, like her stable companion Star Ascending, her wins mean she has gone up significantly in the handicap, rising from a mark of 51 to her current 69, with a further increase now inevitable.

Hopefully there is more in the tank and that she will continue her good form through the summer, Congratulations to rider Rossa Ryan, who has formed a good association with her, and winning owners The Amazing Racing Syndicate, who still have shares available in this horse!

Wolverhampton Win for Sunshineandbubbles

Star Ascending Continues to Shine

STAR ASCENDING has been an absolute star over the winter, and last night’s evening meeting at Wolverhampton provided his seventh win since the beginning of December (and his tenth career success). Joe Fanning took the ride and was never too far away from the leaders. He didn’t get a clear run around 2f out, but Joe managed to get him going and stayed on to lead well inside final furlong, and he just kept galloping up the straight. He only won by a nose, but we have been on the wrong side of a few short-margin photo finishes lately, so we were due this one, and Star Ascending certainly has the winning habit. He’s now won seven of his last 11 starts, the first win coming off a mark of 48 and this one off 73, so he’s had a tremendous campaign these last few months. We are delighted for Joe Fanning who has partnered him for five of those wins, with the other two being ridden by Rossa Ryan and Eddy Greatrex, and of course we offer our congratulations to the winning owner, Paul Wright-Bevans.
